## Web developer and consultant

I'm a web developer and consultant with over 25 years’ experience, designing and building digital systems since the web itself was new. I work across front-end engineering, UX, and strategy - informed by deep experience and shaped by new approaches.

I have worked on hundreds of web projects large and small, simple and complex - in-house, in agencies, and in direct client collaborations. I understand not just how the web works, but how best to use it to solve problems.

I take pride in my craft: writing clean, considered code; prioritising [accessibility](./accessibility.html); designing for longevity; and working iteratively with people and teams to create thoughtful, sustainable web experiences.

## Portfolio

A selection of projects.

- [The Chancery Lane Project](https://chancerylaneproject.org/) — Web platform for a global network of law firms using legal frameworks to help organisations reduce emissions. I contributed to the GEO-readiness Markdown for Agents plugin here, too.
- [ONE.org](https://one.org/) — Multisite, multilingual platform (WordPress + ActionKit) for a global campaigning movement working to end extreme poverty. 11+ years of continuous work, latterly a full audit.
- [WCCF – Data Explorer](https://worldcitiescultureforum.com/data-explorer-indicators/) — Built an interactive data explorer for the World Cities Culture Forum, comparing cultural indicators across 40+ cities. Eleventy static site with a JSON data layer.
- [Tropical Isles](https://tropicalislescarnival.org) — WordPress and WooCommerce site for a carnival-arts charity — events, community, cultural impact. Small but mighty.
- [WikiTribune](http://oldwp.wikitribune.com/) — Collaborative journalism platform founded by Jimmy Wales. Experimental, opinionated, WordPress under the hood.
- [World Cities Culture Forum](https://worldcitiescultureforum.com) — WordPress build for the World Cities Culture Forum, a network of 40+ global cities collaborating on cultural policy. Custom theme, editorial workflows.
- [RNID](https://www.rnid.org.uk) — Accessible web platform for the UK's national hearing-loss charity, built around the GOV.UK Design System. The kind of work where a11y is the brief, not a line item.
- [Public Digital](https://public.digital/) — WordPress theme for a digital-transformation consultancy working across public and civic services. Calm, content-first, legible at scale.
- [Redmonk](https://redmonk.com/) — Website and blog platform for the developer-focused industry analyst. Long-running engagement; quiet, durable work.
- [350.org](https://350.org) — Built a centralised WordPress plugin to deploy a multilingual Usercentrics cookie banner across 100+ 350.org sites.
